Ark Wildlife Park Ark Wildlife Park News

If you go up past the goat enclosure (near the play area), there is a gate that leads to another field, that has a lake and an island. I was given told to what was planned to go there when I visited early this year, but whether it's still the same or not I don't know, so I won't speculate.

The island will be open on sunday from 11 and it's inhabitants revealed. No idea if the new cat or the other rescued species will be ready though.

The feline that the FB page was referring to was a pair two servals the park are expecting to receive soon.

The Ark is raising funds to build a new enclosure for two foxes recently rescued - one silver fox named Dexter, which was a pet who was at risk of being put down due to allegedly being aggressive - and the other is a white fox called Lana. I presume she is a red fox but is white and absolutely beautiful! The target for the appeal is £2000, so not a lot really, and initial work started today.

A group of four ex-laboratory macaques (sorry not sure of the exact species) are due to arrive at The Ark imminently and their new home, Macaque Manor, is due to open to visitors on 7th August. The same date will also see Marmosets added to the collection of animals; from talking to the owner on a recent visit I believe that these may be coming from Monkey World, but this is not 100% confirmed.

The new Macaques have arrived today. They are Rhesus Macaques. A quote from their Facebook post: 'Our newest residents are here, William, Wodan, Appy & Tiffy the Rhesus macaques are settling in well to their new home, come and visit them in Macaque Manor from tomorrow onwards.'

Has anyone been since the Jungle cat arrived? I was thinking of going today, but it is a bit of a trek for such a small collection. They have a young 'Savannah cat' or, Serval cross bred with a domestic cat now, that was seized by border control.

You can always combine with Linc's wildlife park or Baytree owl and wildlife centre. That's what I usually do. Haven't visited since the arrival of the macaques or jungle cat but want to go back soon. Still haven't seen the rusty Genet!
