The separation stalls were boarded up. Thus in use by female or to have no inquisitive male spoiling it. The last female offspring should have moved house to the macaques and the one before that has left the zoo.

At Artis 10 African penguins have been placed in the enclosure of the Californian sealions.

Hopefully not !
But sealions can still learn to sexually abuse penguins. Penguins can hope no young frustrated sealion male is there

They probably won't, as the penguins are faster.
I wouldn’t be surprised.
Shortly after the London Zoo Sea-Lion Pool opened (in 1905) the ZSL experimented with a mixed exhibit of sea-lions and penguins; unfortunately, the largest sea-lion developed a taste for eating penguins.....The penguins had to be re-housed before they all disappeared.
Is there anything published about the London Penguin / sealion experiment ?
This is mentioned in various histories of London Zoo; for example, the two books written by L. R. Brightwell:- The Zoo You Knew (1936) and The Zoo Story (1952).
It is also referred to in London Zoo from Old Photographs (John Edwards; 1st Edition 1996; 2nd Edition 2012)
