Ask your kids about conservation... help needed

Dear ZooChatters,
I would like to ask you all for a little bit of help. I need to do a little survey for a new established Wildlife an Conservation Discussion Group in Dublin (see http://www.zoochat.com/699/wild-thoughts-poster-258980/ )

The question is - what do your kids learn in school about conservation and endangered species?

I want to make it as simple as possible - just ask you child about their Science or Biology class - Did you learn something about endangered/extinct species? Did your teacher explain evolution to you? Did they tell you, how to protect our environment?
And then just state the age of the child and country...

Here is an example:
Maria, 12 year old, Czech Republic
Basic evolution principles explained in 6th grade.
Basic introduction to ecology, especially pollution and recycling.
Teacher didn´t explain extinction or protection of endangered species at all.

Thank you all very much for your help, I really appreciate it. :)

P.S. I understand that ZooChatter´s children will know more about animals than the children of "non-animal lovers", but that doesn´t matter, I only need to know, what they learned in school.;)

You could check the National Curriculum for England.

Conservation/Environment is covered in a variety of subjects - PSHCE (looking at the local area and expanding out to global) eg Water Aid, local pollution issues (including traffic). Science - plant growth, habitat, water cycle etc. Geography - habitats, conservation issues, rainforest, Eco tourism etc

Thank you for the tip. I am hoping to get some answers from other countries as well. I would also prefer a personal experience of a child - I think that it also depends on a particular teacher and his ability to attract kids attention. And I also believe that UK will probably have one of the best Conservation/Environment curriculum.

No one else? Please, guys, I just need few examples... They don´t have to be your kids, just a kid you know...

All right, I'm fifteen, so I'm putting down my experience with conservation education in the past. I'm homeschooled, though, and have only taken a couple online highschool classes, so I'm probably not a very good example.

Aspen, 15, USA.
Online highschool Biology 1 and 2 taken in freshmen year (age 14).
One quarter of Biology part 1 was on Ecology
One quarter of Biology part 1 was on Evolution
Conservation and Extinction discussed throughout part 1 and part 2.

Thanks very much, Coragypsatratus, I really appreciate it.:)
