I have discovered there was a Persian language television series called The Centipede, but I really don’t imagine that has any relevance!

I've finally got to my destination after a long 13 hour drive and I can now reveal the remaining links to the puzzle:

The Forest buffalo is also known as the red or dwarf buffalo linking to the Scifi comedy programme Red Dwarf.

The Somali wild ass. An ass is to be a fool and as asses are related to horses it is Only Fools & Horses

The centipede is known to have 100 legs which relates to the BBC game show Pointless as the highest points a contestant can score is 100.

The Horseshoe surgeonfish had two answers I could have accepted, Horse of the Year Show or Casualty relating both to horses and surgeons.

And last but not by any means least, the Blue duiker. One of the subspecies is Simpsoni relating to, but of course, The Simpsons.

So the overall theme of probably the the most long winded and tenuous puzzle on ZooChat (apologies :() is Programmes Shown on British Television

Great effort to everyone involved and I think I will take a rest from creating picture puzzles on forum as I think my combination of species plus the links are enough to give any sleuth a headache. :D
