Banham Zoo Banham Zoo News

Does anyone know of any news coming out of Banham as their website is really bad for publishing news!! Last update of any news was in August! (Surely something has had to have happened from then!!)
 
Maargash and Ziva the snow leopards have gone to Dudley and Howletts respectively.

In other news, a male red-bellied Lemur named Will has arrived from West midlands safari park, he has been introduced to the zoo's female Maggie.
 
New male Grevy's Zebra arrived from Chessington last week. Name is Orion (ex Marwell)

I understood it as that he was born at Marwell, and has been in Chessington's batchelor group since it was formed...

Technically correct but he returned to Marwell last year and has been over wintered there, arrived at Banham a few weeks ago.

Banham have kept Grevy Zebra for a very long time now- several decades-and at one time they were the only UK Zoo apart from Marwell with this species. They had three(?) mares for a long time and during the time they've kept them, have had at least two different stallions.

But have they ever bred one?:confused:

They've had the two females for quite a while now and to my knowledge they haven't bred their. However, having traced their history and parentage, offspring etc one of them has bred before however not at Banham. The new male was born at Marwell and moved to Chessington's bachelor group for a while. I wasn't aware of him moving back to Marwell.
