Interesting is not the word I'd use! I think it was purpose built thoughWas the Wingham exhibit purpose built for penguins? It looks... interesting!
Does that make Weymouth the only UK Zoo to exhibit Little Blues. It should be noted Weymouth also have Humboldt penguins, in a much worse enclosure than the little blues...
Only place in Europe!Does that make Weymouth the only UK Zoo to exhibit Little Blues.

As now the penguins have left Longleat in January last year I would go for WhipsnadeResults are in. Congratulations to Edinburgh on winning the vote for Best UK Penguin enclosure. It was an extremely close competition with Edinburgh winning by 2 votes over London in the end. This is Edinburgh's second poll win with the first in the Chimpanzee category. Outside of those two excellent exhibits Edinburgh has performed poorly in all other areas so far.
This was London's best performance so far and they are the zoo with the most votes yet to win a poll. In my view part of the reason London has yet to win a poll so far is due to the space constraints it faces compared to other more successful collections in these polls such as Highland, Whipsnade and YWP. Furthermore, it would appear it compounds this issue by using a lot of its precious space with what most view here as excessive theming, leaving less room for the animals compared to some other collections.
Bristol and Living Coasts also performed well and gained a considerable number of votes. @cliffxdavis @wayne goodman @Jedd Cullinan @AdrianW1963 @HungarianBison who did you want to vote for? Apologies if I missed a post where you outlined it previously.
Edinburgh: 32.2%
London: 28.8%
Living Coasts: 11.9%
Bristol: 10.2%
Flamingo Land: 5.1%
Whipsnade: 1.7%
Marwell: 1.7%
Other: 8.5%
Yes Land of the Lions was a slight letdown.I had such high expectations for it after Tiger Territory,Penguin Beach and B.U.G.S,so I expected more from an exhibit for an animal as iconic as the lion. This poll, along with the tiger poll, also demonstrates that, when ZSL gets it right, they can produce highly commendable, well themed exhibits despite their constricted footprint. It’s a shame they don’t do it often enough (Land of Lions I’m looking at you!)
