Interesting that it states aviaries not aviary as i previously thought. any news on species and where exactly it will be.

The only place where I can imagine them going would be on one of the wetland birds enclosures opposite the "urinating" model...

For species, I personally would like to see Red-Billed hornbills or Von Der Decken's hornbills...

I Remember now, werent Ground Hornbills confirmed. Id like to see Marabou Storks and with the Crowned Cranes and Blue Cranes nearby i guess youre right in saying one of the wetland paddocks. Though id say building a new aviary on the site of the presumably empty small rhino house woudnt be a bad idea either.

I dont think the house i empty, and with the talk of another black rhino ariving they will need all the space they have for them

Through partogenesis, only males will be produced. For female offspring, mating with a male is required.

I just need clarification about the dragons...

ISIS lists 5.2 (6.2 with the new birth) so...

1.0 Norman lives in the original dragon enclosure
0.2 Nessi and Flora? rotate use of the dragons in danger enclosure
1.0 Juvenile in islands in danger
4.0 behind the scenes in the tropical realm

Are they the individuals at chester and in the places where I think they are?

There is atleast one juvenile Komodo on show in the Tropical Realm, presumably the others are aswell. I Only saw the one though.

May I Ask why Kimman was moved back to France?

Oh yes, I forgot the one on show, that would mean 3.0 off show and 1.0 on show then.

I'd imagine Kimman returned to france to make space for Norman...

what about the young komodos in islands in danger

I believe there is only the one in there now because they've grown older (I'm sure there is a sign saying something similar)

You may well know more than me on this however...

Updated listing
1.0 Norman - Original Islands In Danger enclosure
1.0 Juvenile - On show in small vivarium in Islands in Danger
0.2 Nessie and Flora - Rotate use of Dragons in Danger
1.0 Juvenile - On show in tropical realm
2.0 Juveniles - Off-show in tropical realm

That just leaves the newly hatched male...

Why has not the genetically valuable male Norman been introduced yet to the females Nessie and Flora? Makes no sense importing him from Rotterdam in a highly publicised affair and then not to make use of him (or was the parthogenisis an unfortunate .... hick-up?

Jelle, according to the article, it seems that they were going to pair them up soon...

Thanx CZJimmy,

Alas an unplanned accident! They now damn well get their act together and put male and females in together soonish in order to get some much needed youngsters for the EEP breeding programme. In particular females are a sought after commodity .... (you can determine the sex in the egg). The female Flora is a frequent layer ... so that should count for something when a mating game is planned! :D
