As far as I know, bongos are kept in Valencia, Madrid, and Barcelona. Jerez used to have some.

I checked it out, but the data could be a little off.

Barcelona: 1.1
Madrid: 1.0
Valencia BP: 2.1 (breeding pair and their male calf)

Jerez was not mentioned even.


I visited myself in 2017 and cannot remember having seen any bongo even then.

Jerez used to have bongos were now they have lynxes, or at least in that area. I have seen photos of bongos in Jerez and old maps mention them. Also, they are listed in the former holders in zootierliste.

The breeding female at Valencia is the former Jerez female an arrived in 2012.

When they leaves Jerez go to Barcelona, but now seems the animals in Barcelona aren't from Jerez. I don't know where go the "Jerez's" bongos

Barcelona's new female was bred at Bioparco Valencia (2017). Male is from Lisboa.
