Bioparc Valencia Bioparc Valencia News

Oh! don´t mention it! ;) thank you for to appreciate the "effort" really it´s not an effort for my,I do it with pleasure :)

its just to let you know your news abot Valencia Bioparc is read by some of us with much interest and so its appreciated;)

Note from local newspaper:

The blesboks family grows in Bioparc.

A male son of Kesi and Lukas's has thickened blesboks family at Valencia Zoo. This is an antelope that has a white mark on his forehead and living in open areas of South Africa. Was close to extinction by the massive hunt. In Bioparc, this male has no name yet, presents the peculiarity of being born in the autumn when summer it's the usual birth season.

What's up with the Bioparc website? It doesn't work and when you google it, it sends you to the buying tickets page and you can get nowhere else from there on.

@IceQueen the website it's finally working again.
Today I see Kabuli and Thomas playing and climbing for all around of the their 'new' exhibit, (the bachelor group and the 'breeding' group have interchanged their enclosures) these guys are very funny and seems to me they are very happy with the fellow each other.

Yesterday finally after of some failed attempts, I can see (and take pics) ;) of the Thomson gazelles.

The most recent births at Bioparc Valencia: meerkat, sitatunga, white-crowned mangabey and a female of Thomson´s gazelle.

For my knowledge no news about red flanked or elephants, but no news are good news :D
But in the other hand, they have 4 new ring tailed babies and 1 red belied too, and 'Rigas' the common hippo female it's waiting a baby ;)

How are the gorillas doing, especially mambi?
Are there any signs of possible pregnancies?

Thanks
Josh.

@ josh_08 unfortunately Mambi seems not interested in to perpetuate his own species...

3 warthog were born yesterday in Bioparc.

But somebody(was it you?) definately took a photo of Mambi mating though for some reason it does not seem to be in the Valencia gallery now, but I know that I saw it in there. And a male that mates(or tries) is certainly still a potential breeder so I would not discount him entirely(yet)...

I posted one link to the photo, but it is in the web page of Bioparc. Mambi was checked for experts in Human Artificial Insemination, for to demonstrate he is fertile or not, I don't known the conclusions, but I suspect he is not fertile...

the link to the pic was eliminated from the web page.

Quick question, ISIS lists 1.0 red-flanked duiker at Bioparco, can someone give me the exact numbers there? 1.2 arrived from LA and I thought they just had their first birth as well?

Well, while ISIS has registered 3.1.0.1 But I've never seen more than two; and lately only seen one with a C.natalensis
