Yes the area directly below the feeding area is meant for wattled crane

How about the fenced area around it? Are they making a more permanent fences for the Saddlebills as well?

During my visit earlier, in the hope of seeing the Blue-eared Pheasants (unsuccessful), I spotted what was most likely a straw-headed bulbul inside Wings of Asia. Do they recently introduced the bulbul(s) to the aviary or it has been there for a while?

Do you have a picture of it?

@Zooish Do you know how many Southern screamers are there at Crimson Wetlands? I’ve never seen more than 1 at any given time, however you mentioned last year that a male screamer was going to be introduced.

some Mindanao Lorikeets are now housed with the Negros Bleeding-hearts at Winged Sanc

i also saw a Lesser Green Leafbird and Village Weavers at SOF and HOA respectively. are they new additions?

Some male Vitelline Masked Weavers (Ploceus vitellinus) were transferred from Winged Sanctuary to Heart of Africa. They were mistakenly signed as Village Weavers previously.

after today's visit,
  • I didn't see any Northern Carmine Bee-eater , be there around 1pm and 4pm, only saw one European Bee-eater, anyone knows what happened?
  • In Mysterious Papua, the information board of Lesser Bird of Paradise has been put there. I asked one staff, she said it is already released in the aviary, I didn't see it in holding cage, of course, also was not able to spot it.
  • Saw one wild Lesser Dog-faced Fruit Bat (Cynopterus brachyotis) in Heart of Africa, seems more and more local wildlife are moving

The Northern Carmines are there, they were probably hiding when you were in Heart of Africa. I saw them flying around the feeding area.

The bat is most likely stuck there like the Colugos, squirrels and that one lone black-naped oriole
