I think the plans to start the puffins are winter this year

They are starting penguins soon... they are going in the center of the zoo near the crane & kelp geese aviaries were theres a new path been laid out

And from what i have been told when they build the puffin pens they will also be doing more penguins there to along with seals or sea lions.... but theres a good chance that might change best asking Shaun about them :)
 
puffins are planned for this year not sure on species though there is a plan for a few penguin exhibits starting with Humboldt Penguins that again should be this year.

dont know what they are on about with the lemurs though currently there are 16 lemurs at blackbrook
1.1.1 b+w ruffed
1.1 red ruffed
1.2 mayottes
2.2 white fronted brown
1.1 mongoose lemur
1.1 ring tailed
and marmoset tamarin wise ther are
1.3 white lipped
1.1.2 red handed
1.1.6 Black-tufted Marmoset (these replaced 1.1 common marmosets)
dont know why the papers are having such trouble with them
 
urmm you know wet land walk?? there is what we know as side pens i think there is a few hawain geese in them now. species depends on what we can get hopfully get in touch with some stud book keepers and get some interesting species but this isnt easy as we aint biaza.
 
Any new Pheasants, Storks, Baies on the way? I was told that Malayan Tapirs may be on the way?

Chester has lots of Geoffroy's marmosets. Talk to them!!
 
malayan tapirs in on the wish list so to speak but no solid plans yet
to be honest with the birds we never know whats goin to turn up the owner has all the bird contacts things just tend to arrive
the solid plans for this year are humboldts, torrent ducks, marmoset/tamarin pens puffins, african walk way (not sure on details as of yet but looks possible for new meerkat/ porcipine and other small mammal /bird pens new otter pen by lemurs
possilble exzibits are artic turns/wader exzibit and rebuild small mammal block possibly for red river hog
there are lots of plans for the future they just have to become reality.

we have just got 1.1.1 red kanagroos and according to isis it makes us the 4th zoo in england to keep these?

Think we got 2 more white storks since your last visit....

If they still do the large Africa exibt on the field behind the ostrich im sure they will be loads of birds going up there

The fields marked with a X will be sold to use if we want to make the entrance of the zoo up on the main road (tho that will be years away)

plans are being drawn up at present work to start in a few weeks hopfully and by the site of the proposed penguin pen.
i think from a private breeder in germany
 
That is pretty cool, how big is the zoo in acre's at the moment ???

How many species will there be?
When will the austrailian pelican have a mate?
Where did the Australian Pelican come from?
When will the construction work be finished so I can come round and have a nosy?

How many species will there be? dont really know as of yet but the way we try and do things hopfully quite a few the other place the owner owned breed kings so will prob want to do them again

Penguins are great, the other place the owner owened do they still own it, what was/ is it called ??
Also what are the enclosures be made out of where the building matrials coming from, what is the filterlation system going to be where it comming from, any plans n the net/ drawings and designs ??
