Is the cassowary still there?
The collection isn't as good as it was say 18 months ago,but then they could afford to keep alot more species then, and even taking into account that a few of the rarer species of Waterfowl have been moved to Hillside for the breeding season,I doubt that there is a better collection of waterfowl any where else in the UK!That and the fact they still have the only Black-necked Cranes and White-faced Herons in the UK they still have a few very nice bits.I was at Blackbrook three weeks ago and there was one group of buyers/investors being shown around then. Btw I thought Blackbrook was fantastic, even though it's collection is not as good as I'm told it was, and the entrance charge of £4 is ridiculously low.

Oh that's a shame. My boyfriend loves that cassowary and is literally crying right now. He sees her as a pet of sorts.
As long as he doesn't love the Cassowary more than you?!
Hate to be picky but do the WWT centres not come close...?
I know Blackbrook have a more diverse collection but surely Slimbridge leads the way in Waterfowl? Just my opinion of course but that is a specific collection of (mainly) waterfowl!

Not any more they don't.
Collectively they certainly do: the number of species at Slimbridge has been reduced compared to the number kept 40 years ago, but this is largely because the sea ducks and some other species that need very clean water are now kept at Arundel.
I have been to Arundel though and was surprised at how many Sea Ducks were on display. Presumably they have the best selection of these now.
Very good news.
