Today I visited Bojnice, and in aviaries closest to the entrance are some very interesting species of birds not mentioned on their website: blue-throated barbet (Psilopogon asiaticus), Abyssinian roller (Coracias abyssinicus), spangled cotinga (Cotinga cayana), pinyon jay (Gymnorhinus cyanocephalus), Asian fairy-bluebird (Irena puella) and African golden oriole (Oriolus auratus). Plush-crested jay (Cyanocorax chrysops) is in one of the mixed aviaries on the way to Carpathian lynx enclosure. Also, bear pits and most of the outdoor enclosures in the monkey house (except orangutan´s and mantled guereza´s) are being reconstructed.
