Brandywine Zoo Brandywine Zoo news

I just uploaded a bunch of pictures from the zoo including the new exhibit! Also the Sandhill Crane moved to the Swift Fox exhibit and the former guineafowl exhibit now has two long wooden perches, so I'm not sure what's going in there.
I’m guessing it would be either the blue & gold macaw they’ve had in the past, or possibly the sun parakeets they plan on getting. It also could be new sloths that they might have acquired for the South American wetlands.

You're probably right. I think that it would probably be macaws. The perches would probably be too wide for Sun Parakeets or sloths. Did you see anything there when you went @Wyman?

The website also mentions a box turtle.
  • Box Turtle – our box turtle digs a burrow in her exhibit and goes underground for the winter each year. She emerges naturally in the spring as it warms up!
Does anyone know what exhibit it's in?

Currently it's Candace the capybara and three scarlet ibises. In the past I've seen white-faced whistling ducks before the ibises were brought in.
If the turtle and toucans aren't in there, then maybe the turtle is in the aviary next to the Burrowing Owls and the toucans are in the empty exhibit? Also, it's weird that they took their whistling-ducks off-exhibit. I'm pretty sure they still have two males behind the scenes.
