I called the zoo to see when this would take place (I’m going on the 10th), but there’s no plans or set dates. It feels like the development is in either the early stages of the process, or the late stages. All we know is that it’ll happen in early October

I hope he’s there, or Ryu will be out at that time. But we’ll have to see.

some notes from my visit

  • The Crested Seriemas are off display for some reason, the keeper there knew that they aren't on display but didn't say why.
  • Ryu is visible, but he doesn't have access to either outdoor habitats so far
  • They have a new young male African Rock Python on display with the Burmese Python in expedition Africa, he has been at the zoo for a few years but outgrew his behind the scenes habitat.
  • the zoo no longer has a collared lemur
  • the zoos only Rosella passed away.
