Cotswold is a very good zoo, no question, but it is the categories that should determine who wins, not which zoo is better overall! I am one of ZSL's biggest critics on here, but in these categories even I think it wins, at least fairly comfortably.

Even in ex-situ / in-situ conservation output ? Shouldn't that be the ultimate litmus test ?

I'm not arguing that Cotswold does beat ZSL in that regard but rather what I am saying is does that criteria come into your considerations when you vote ?

Do you think Cotswold is better on Conservation then? I haven't researched this for these categories, but overall ZSL is better than most zoos in that area! They sadly often seem more interested in their conservation efforts than their zoos!

Probably not if you take into account the EDGE-species programe.

But to hell with ZSL...

Today I'm going with Cotswold because of their contributions to the conservation of the greater bamboo lemur.

That is probably more within the rules than voting for Cotswold because it is 'a very charming looking zoo'!

Indeed :p voting because the relevant exhibits are charming-looking and good quality is within the rules, voting because one is applying it to the zoo as a whole is not.

It is rubbish compared to London or Whipsnade, I think you need to clean your glasses!! They are a very dark shade of rose!!
I would clarify this by saying I don't think Cotswold'S penguin exhibit is actually awful, just average, whilst London's is very good and Whipsnade's good at least!

It is very small compared to the other zoos and doesn't hold anywhere near the numbers the other 2 hold! The photos flatter it, I think it struggles to make the best 10 penguin exhibits in the UK whilst London and Whipsnade are both top 5. You can't judge everything by photos!

For me (having never seen it) it looks fine and the penguins look fine in it too so it isn't really a deal breaker.

The penguin enclosure at CWP is relatively small and the low perimeter wall concerns me considering that dogs are allowed in this zoo. I once saw a dog escape its owner and head straight for the penguins, fortunately someone stopped it but it seems like an accident waiting to happen.

You mean guide dogs right ?
