People need to stop. The zoo may have to put in a new barrier or fence to prevent people from going over. Maybe barbed wire.“The woman, who was dressed in a red slip dress and leopard print scarf, can be seen in video obtained by NBC New York waving roses at the bewildered lion. She then started throwing $100 bills in the air.”
Was the wishing pond out of commission?

The video in the news link makes it sound as though this may be the same woman who climbed in two years ago...

It would be fantastic to have an established population of Vontsiras in the North America (It would definitely bring more diversity to Malagasy Exhibit). although I agree that bringing them across the pond with a relatively small population (and no past success) May not be the smartest move for the species. The zoo's director has Tweeted out that they are looking to import further Ring-Tailed Vontsira from Europe to try and establish a population in US zoos. As much as I love their vontsira, this is a strange move to me seeing as there are only about two and a half dozen animals in the European population, far from established and thriving, so splitting up the population doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Additionally, the zoo has never had any success with breeding their current pair (who came from Berlin).

I thought the small carnivore tag advised against keeping vontsiras. The zoo's director has Tweeted out that they are looking to import further Ring-Tailed Vontsira from Europe to try and establish a population in US zoos.
