A couple of highlights from my visit this past weekend:
-The first deer pasture on the monorail was closed due to a fencing issue, meaning the Barasingha, Chital, Bactrian Deer, and Blackbuck were all off-exhibit.
-Taiwan Mountain Viper is now on-exhibit with the new Philippine Pitviper.
-Brongersma's Pitviper is now signed with the Sunda Island Pitvipers
-The Fly River Turtle tank is gone from World of Reptiles. In its place is a new Home's Hingeback Tortoise enclosure.
-Baja Blue Rock Lizard is signed in the Gila Monster enclosure now, with the collared lizard no longer signed.
-The zoo's added virtual signage to the Butterfly Garden which visitors can access with a QR code that shows them an updated species list of butterflies and other animals in the building. Visitors can even mark which species they've seen which I think is a cool feature.
-I noted that some of the cranes and swans have been put back out on-exhibit following a lot hiatus off-exhibit due to HPAI.
-The zoo is incubating Hooded Merganser eggs.
-The zoo had four or five giant sengi on-exhibit, including one quite small animal that's likely a growing youngster.
