Whoops, thanks for noting this. I didn’t see it.It's in both threads, scroll back up to past #279 in this thread.
As reported on the zoo's Instagram, there was a Northern Luzon giant cloud rat born four months ago that is now behind the scenes in Jungleworld
Bronx Zoo on Instagram: "There’s a new addition in JungleWorld! This is our four-month-old cloud rat that is currently being housed off exhibit with their dam (or mom). Senior Keeper Keri captured these moments during a training session when the young cloud rat voluntarily used the scale for the first time and was given a reinforcement treat using tongs. Recording weight on a regular basis helps us track infant development and is an ongoing part of quality animal care."
They already have an exhibit in Jungleworld between the 2nd and 3rd galleries, so I would be very surprised. This surely is what is coming to the old leopard exhibit, right?

Some updates from my visit on Monday:
-Two snowy owls were placed on exhibit Monday morning in the palm nut vulture enclosure in the birds of prey aviaries as the latter species is put indoors for winter
-Unsure of when it arrived, but there appears to be a fully grown tomistoma in the larger crocodilian exhibits at the end of the hall in the reptile house. There are still adolescents in the last viewing window on the right before the exit
Yes, I meant to follow up on this! I asked a keeper and she confirmed it is a female gharial from Jungleworld. Who knows, could be behavioral, more space needed, medical, etc. This is one of the Indian Gharials from JW, not a full-grown Sunda Gharial (Tomistoma). I'm not really sure the logic behind moving one over from the much better habitat in JW.
