More cheetah pics on Facebook, I'm really pleased for KT that she got there before the upstart Adaze ;) although I don't suppose KT cares!

Also pleased that when I booked KFD and had plenty of choice I said "I'll wait until August, give them chance to breed!"

It's still not too late Asha :)

Fantastic to see the cheetah cubs today, I'm not too far in the dog house for dragging BluetoffeeZoo away!

I was thinking that only yesterday, as it happens. Considering we now know the tigers and cheetahs are reproductively compatible, we have the distinct possibility that in a couple of years we might have 3 out of 4 of the big cats breeding.... which is a good prospect, all things considered.

If Asha bred now, she would be, as far as I am aware, the oldest ever (pure) Asian Lioness to breed in a European Zoo.

haha that would be a fab day x

we will have to wait until we get back from berlin and corfu to see the new cheetah cubs... cnt wait... Zoogiraffe im sorry to say the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial church here at the moment is covered up...! I think for reconstruction to stop it collapsing and return it to its original state.

If any body would like a list of what is on show (especially now the bird house has been demolished) please let us know as we are planning to visit (sunday and monday) tomorrow.

sorry it is short notice..!

Heather and Den x

I wonder if they will leave the Tower in its current state? Its as iconic to Berlin as the Zoo I think. I have a postcard of camels at the Zoo with the church tower as a backdrop, one of my favourites.

Sorry, back to Chester...;)

I do think news like the cheetah births should be given a separate thread, EVERYTHING for Chester is getting lumped into one thread and that is a lot of posts.

Chester 2011 #4

This thread exists now, sooner or later Sim will lock the original Chester 2011 thread. It's getting too long.

The hyrax enclosure is finished and work has begun on the anteater enclosure (ex kangaroos).

The Annam Leaf Turtles are now in the Aquarium (they are labelled as Annam's Leaf Turtles).

The white-faced whistling ducks seem to be breeding like rabbits.

A white-crested turaco was in the holding aviary in the Tropical Realm, I could not see the pair in the adjacent aviary.

Visitors are still having trouble relating to the map.

A gentleman looking at a vicuna said, 'I don't know what it is, I think it's a lemur.' He seems to be confused.

I have closed the mentioned thread and added "January-July" to the title.

Which aviary is the one you saw in - is it the second one (including the corner one) after going up the ramp? Also the ones in the corner aviary was nesting (not sure if it has got eggs or not - just on a nest!)....If I'm thinking of the correct species :rolleyes:
