The hyrax enclosure is finished
Excellent. Are the beasties out and about?

Which aviary is the one you saw in - is it the second one (including the corner one) after going up the ramp? Also the ones in the corner aviary was nesting (not sure if it has got eggs or not - just on a nest!)....If I'm thinking of the correct species![]()
Excellent. Are the beasties out and about?
It was empty, perhaps a bit of work still to be done.
Cheers - still a little longer to wait then!![]()

Has a male Lar Gibbon died or been relocated as only 2.1 or shown on ISIS.
That is correct, they only have 2.1 now.
These are also mentioned on Chester Zoo's facebook page - the comments really are something else, with many asking 'why would you want to reintroduce spiders, they're horrible and there are enough spiders already in Britain' - with a touch of people adding 'I just squish them if they come near me!' - way to congratulate Chester on this good news![]()
I actually one went to Redgrave and Lopham fens (on the Norfolk/Suffolk border) to look for Dolomedes. I didn't see any, but I'd love to see one in the wild one day - so this is good news. I do remember wonderful views of 2 big pike in a dyke and a snipe drumming just over my head.
[*]Anyone know what the plans are for the wetlands aviary? Most of the birds seem to have gone over the last few months.[/LIST]
Nice to here there's a sun bittern at Chester again.
That's Run for the Wild, you'll find the details on the zoo's website. From ZooChat, Mariebee and I took part last year and raised a few hundred pounds. It was good fun and provided you finish within he alotted time, you don't actually have to run. I don't think you can enter as a team though. Also, Heather noticed a poster about the family fun run and we are thinking of doing it. Is anyone else going to be taking part? We could have a "zoochatters" team..?
