That's Run for the Wild, you'll find the details on the zoo's website. From ZooChat, Mariebee and I took part last year and raised a few hundred pounds. It was good fun and provided you finish within he alotted time, you don't actually have to run. I don't think you can enter as a team though.

I asked at guest services and the guy wasnt sure but he said that he thought if you enter it had to be as individuals and you put a team name instead but you would still all have to pay £10 and raise at least £20 each.

Is anyone doing it this year? We really want to do it but there is not any sort of transport from here to there for that time in a morning on a Sunday so we are going to have to look at hotels nearby.

What is the allotted time limit? He told me there wasnt one.

The run starts at 8:30am and last year entrants needed to have completed the 5km course before 10am. The route won't be quite the same this year, but will probably involve going around the entire perimeter of the car park immediately after the start, and half-way around the car park just prior to the finish.

I'll be having another go this year in an attempt to break the nineteen minute (cough) record Mariebee and I set last year.

Do we know what was wrong with the Tiger cub yet?

I think the zoo has commented on a similar question on facebook and said that they would not make medical results public.

I still want to kno whether the tiger cub was male or female.

I will be visiting this saturday 27th are their any photographs you would like me to try and get for if so please let me know by p/m or on this thread

Many thanks in advance

Edit - reason for asking as I have been through the gallery and found that there are alot of the species with no photographs in the gallery to many to mention

Today at Chester....

Giant Otters are off show. A sign on the enclosure confirms they will be back "later this week". No reason is given for there absence although it's probably something to do with the building work on there new indoor house

Four new Visayan Warty Piglets are now on show. The father and three older siblings have been seperated from the mother for now because of this.

Cheetah cubs all doing well. The zoo is asking people to vote for the names of the two females off a list of suggestions through the Facebook page.

The Giant Anteater enclosure looks to be nearly finished.

Any questions? just ask... :)
