I went today.the Female Tiger looked uncomfortable and was prowling round as though she could'nt settle down.It wont be long now....
The Male Zebra was racing about and making such a noise,he was so eager to get in with the females.anyone know when the will put them together?
Both Bears where out but still seperated.
The Crocodile enclosure was'nt much differant to before, just fenced off down the middle. A worker was sticking bits of wood together with a mastic gun???
I see that they have seperated a couple of the Hunting Dogs.

The zoos facebook has posted that there is some news coming tomorrow- maybe tiger cubs?
And may be not the zoo still has other news that hasn't broken on here and facebook, because those of us that have been told the news have been asked not to post it until the zoo is ready!

Glad it's not just me that isn't keen on chimps. To be honest I will admit to not actually liking them that much, I find them fascinating as a creature, but I am not keen on them, maybe they are too much like me/us...

Far from you being in a minority I think chimps are actually the animal that people love to hate... or maybe just like to dislike! Specially zoophiles!

bet the exciting news is something non-animal related, like the frost fair announcement lol

moved to the old Kangeroo enclosure, looks a good enclosure for them, nicely refitted to suit.

I assume the Spectacled Caiman are the new inhabitants of the Philippine Croc exhibit?

Yep, I have a photo going up in the gallery.

Hadn't realised the anteaters had moved yet while I was there today, as there were workers in the enclosure. She must have been kept inside whilst finishing touches are made :)

I must admit, I'm a bit disappointed in the choice of Spectacled Caiman. I was hoping the replacements might have been something equally as rare (or as interesting) as the Philippines.
I understand that many members of 'Joe Public' had complained that the Crocodiles were "too small"! Hope they enjoy the Caiman!;)

The caimans are still only young, nowhere near the 6-8ft they can reach. I must admit that I would have much preferred a rarer species, but spec. caimans are still very nice animals :)
