Do you know why they are there? Which ones have been moved?

Kinky Tail and one of her cubs. I don't know why they are there.

I can remember when that area was just grass, with an aviary on the north-east corner, usually containing eagle owls.

Saw the cheetahs in the old cassowary enclosure yesterday. Incredible to get so close to them, when we've been used to viewing them from afar.

Bush dog pups were a joy to behold too - really active and showing well at end of day.

Looks like finishing touches to tiger enclosure were being carried out yesterday - can't being now.

A team of keepers were installing new electric barriers around the trees in spectacled bear exhibit. I've seen them both climb the trees recently, and although it is an incredible sight, and the bears are in their element, I can see why the trees will need to be protected if they stand any chance of survival!

Bali starlings continue to get more visible. They have started to be fed outdoors now to encourage them to be more comfortable in view of the public.

Work also started on the large mixed exhibit herp display in Monsoon Forest - can't wait to see that when its complete.

Got wires crossed there a little :p I deleted the duplicate just as you deleted the original! I've restored your post now.

We welcome back sun bears after 40-year break | Zoo News | Chester Zoo

Among the information at the link is this statement from Tim Rowlands, the curator of mammals:

Several years ago these bears were rescued by a conservation team from Free the Bears working in Cambodia. Toni, whose mother was killed by poachers, was seized from an illegal wildlife trader while Milli was being kept as a pet and was badly mistreated. Happily they are both now well on the way to recovery and we’re thrilled that we’ve been specially selected to work with them and continue with their care.

The bears’ new home will very closely mimic the diverse habitats of their native South East Asia, giving them plenty of trees to climb and places where they can forage for fruits, berries and nuts. Hopefully they’ll quickly feel very settled here and will one day go on to have cubs.

Sun bear numbers are unfortunately rapidly declining as a result of deforestation and poaching but we hope that with our new arrivals acting as fine ambassadors for the species, they’ll also help us to highlight the vital research and conservation efforts needed to protect the species in the wild.

Sun bears are on display (apart from the viewing window being temporarily blocked off). Looks like some anti-dig modifications were added around the perimeter, but little else has been modified.

However... the bears are destroying the bushes, one large laurel was literally halved as we watched. The trees may fare better, but the enclosure will look a lot different in a few weeks.

We saw them last Friday. The female was doing a brilliant Tiger impression and sleeping on the platform. The male was up the Sycamore destroying it.

We thought we were going to miss them as they were still working heavily in the enclosure on Thurdsay morning.

A pair of Kirk's Dik-dik (Madoqua kirkii) are in one of the crane enclosures.

Another Green Aracari (Pteroglossus viridis) chick has fledged.

1.3 Pink Pigeon (Nesoenas mayeri) have arrived from the U.S.A.

The garter snake viv is empty and is undergoing a refurbishment.

The Chimpanzee house has been shut the last few days (not sure about today) as they are intergrating two new chimps, does anyone know whether these will be for breeding purposes? More new additions like these two chimps are always exciting

Where in the zoo are the Green Aracari? I don't recall ever seeing them except in the pictures in the gallery here.
