Also the website has updated, to me so far the only new addition is info on the zoo's Warthog group. Though I'll keep digging.
2 questions;
Where are the warthogs at Chester?
What is the time frame for the opening on the new extention of islands? Tapirs and sun bears etc
SMR may be referring to the Wolverines?
I don't think the Binturong were on show in August, although someone may put me right on that.
Islands extension will be (hopefully) open in Summer 2017
has there been success in breeding the lions to anyone's knowledge?
Great episode tonight, has there been success in breeding the lions to anyone's knowledge? also has anyone got any recent photos of the construction of the sun bear/tapor enclosures?
I doubt these Lions will breed I feel a young male is needed for a successful breeding pair. I have a feeling we'll have a baby Sloth before a Lion after this weeks episode. Also did anyone else find it sad seeing baby Elinor knowing what happened to her.Great episode tonight, has there been success in breeding the lions to anyone's knowledge? also has anyone got any recent photos of the construction of the sun bear/tapor enclosures?
Female Black Rhino, Chanua (born October 2012, Magadi X Ema Elsa) has moved on to Flamingo Land
Gabe is actually sired by Kifaru not Magadi![]()
from the zoos website:
- Gabe was born on January 16
- Mum Ema Elsa is 13-years-old. She was born on 02/11/2002 and has now had three calves at Chester Zoo – Bashira, Chanua and Gabe
- Dad Kifaru is 31-years-old (born 21/10/1984). He arrived at Chester Zoo in 2014 from Hannover Zoo in Germany. He has now sired four calves with this being his first at Chester Zoo. His other offspring are called Samira, Saya and Taco
- The arrival of Gabe brings the total number of Eastern black rhinos at Chester Zoo to 10
Also did anyone else find it sad seeing baby Elinor knowing what happened to her.
