Maybe someone should contact them for the idea.

It has been done.

I have an undated letter from the Membership Office regarding the members' area of the website. I estimate it is 7-8 years old.

"The feature that most of you mentionedas wanting to see inamembers' area is reguular animal updates including transfers in and out, births, deaths, and moves within the zoo."

This is still being brought up at Members' meetings for inclusion in Z megazine, and the zoo still does nothing about providing the information.

Other ideas were

progress and plans of Zoo development.
A calendar of members' days and talks.
Surveys and forums to obtain members' thoughts.
Current Membership benefits and short-term offers.
The ability to communicate with other members about relevant issues.
Ability to contact zoo staff.
Studbooks available for members' viewing.
Members Talks broadcast onto Members section.
Seperate section for junior members with interactive puzzles and quizzes
Z Magazine, back issues of articles
Trial releases of mobile apps for feedback from Members before full release.

How long have the Chilean Pudu been in the Old Serval cat enclosure?
Since around July when the Dusky Pandemelon moved into the former Anteater enclosure with the Pudu moving to the old Serval enclosure. I believe the Pudu were there for a number of year before the Serval though, if I remember correctly.

Bert is the only one in there. The rest can be seen through the window in the Jaguar Coffee House. I originally thought Bert may have been seperated because he was a male but I seen a male in with the others on Friday however I did not see Bert! But the sign still said Chilean pudu so I don't know if it was him or not. Does anyone know why he is seperated?

Bert is the oldest pudu in the zoo and is past breeding age. The coffee house enclosure houses the breeding pair.

Was that a Caribbean Hermit Crab in the same exhibit as the Mountain Chicken in Dragons in Danger area?
Did also notice that the Great Arges Pheasants were giving great views they are usually at the back when ever I visit will be giving a full review of my visit as it was the first time I have visited the collection without having to care for anyone giving me a different view of the collection as I could see what I wanted and was able to take my time around the collection.

Yep, the hermit crabs are in there with them. I have never seen them however.

The secret is to be there after the exhibit has been refurbished, then you can watch a keeper putting the crabs back in one by one. You can't miss seeing them :p

They were quite visible on weds
Guess I just have bad luck then!

Also this is off topic but does anyone know where I can find a list of all species Chester works with in the wild? Spent a while on the Act for Wildlife website with no luck.

Hi I am sorry to announce that Tunga the elephant born at Chester in 2004 has died in a zoo in Belgium could someone please explain why he had part of his trunk missing?
Thanks for reading The Hedgehog.

Popped in today to see phase two of Islands.....its impressive.....although you kinda stumble upon the tapir enclosure. When the tress have matured it will be a really nice outdoor paddock. Indoor simple but effective.

Sun bear enclosure, amazing...outdoor enclosures are wonderful. Certainly best enclosure I have seen for the sun bears.

The walkthrough aviary is better...can image on busy days it will be a place to avoid. Javan green magpie enclosure was lovely. I didn't think it was all that dark, yes for photography it will probably be a pain.

Lastly it was lovely to see the duiker have settled in well with the Okapi (not been for a long while) and are showing well, the original was did not seem to show well.

I've seen okapi-duiker exhibit in three different zoos in two consecutive years... Looks like as if today every okapi exhibit must have some duiker, hehe.

The green magie aviary does allow some good photography, I must be imagining this but it seems to be lighter than when it opened. The magpies are becoming very showy now.

One sat on a branch, about mid-way back for a while with me there watching.

Saw both of the Pademelon today, one of them quite comfortable out in the open around 3pm.

Saw THREE Mouse Deer out, then found out there are FOUR of them, with the young boy taking over the Tropical pad with a girlfriend.

Ooh and saw the new Anoah out munching quite healthily.
