In my visits to Chester the Painted Dogs and Bush Dogs have been very active. Even if the Wolves turned out to be more elusive I think it would bring something that many people would like to see. Depending on the sub-species Wolves could be placed in a UK/ European section.

I've had quite the opposite experience with the painted dogs - but I would still support the idea of wolves.

Isn't the zoo doing a talk about their plans for the future with gorillas and hippos and such soon?

I know gorillas were mentioned a few years back & I'd love to see them at Chester, I think hippos are quite interesting as they're not as lazy & docile as we (general public) seem to believe. As for Giant Pandas I'd like to see them breed at Edinburgh 1st before they come to Chester but I'd live to see pandas more local to me :)

Depends on how hippos are exhibited, Berlin Zoo indoor enclosure is the best I have seen in person. Would love Chester do the same if/when they were to get Hippos but I would like to see a better version of the outside enclosure.

Gorillas I can watch all day, my favourite thing to do is sit at the kitchen garden gorillas at Howletts and just watch the gorillas.

There is a Members' meeting at chester zoo on 6th december, where the zoo will talk about the future plans. It is pygmy hippos that chester willget. I think the hippos and gorillas is a ten year plan, but I may be mistaken. Will find out more in about 4 weeks:p

Assume the usually booking for this? If so have a missed it? Got to try and dig out the members magazine otherwise.

I would love to go to the members meeting if I can. Visited today and saw the howlers, sengis and tenrecs for the first time. Also saw the philippine spotted deer out which is a rare treat. I now have only 2 more animals to find on the Chester Zoo app. Just need the blue crowned laughing thrush and philippine cockatoo.

Where are the tenrecs in the zoo?

Tuan you will need too book a place for the Members Talk, 3 weeks ago it was almos fully booked, so good luck.

Who ever is going to the members talk, will you put the information on ZooChat

On this topic, and speaking as a long-distance (for most of the year) Chester Zoo member, it would be useful if the zoo were to start offering live streams of the talks via its 'Members Portal' (currently used as a system for booking onto said talks and for viewing recent copies of 'Z' magazine) - it's a service which a number of other societies with guest speakers use for their members and one which would certainly make it easier to get full value-for-money out of membership while retaining the advantages of attending in person, e.g. meeting other members and asking questions.

Maybe someone should contact them for the idea.

Does anybody know the best time to see the pademelons? I've been 4 times since they moved in and haven't seen them yet.
