I did notice they had filled the Blue-Legged Mantella pond up a bit higher. Still no mantellas though.....I wish the blue-legged mantellas were as easy to see as the golden mantellas.

By the way, it's Nissen.
And I'm not sure it is.
But it's the shape of a Nissen Hut.
A really nice herp addition. Are they WC or captive-bred (Barcelona)?Zootierliste now says that Chester holds Montseny Brook Salamanders.
Yes, the zoo has been phasing out the oryx, so a return is not expected. Will be interesting to see if they use the paddock for the Grevy's stallion or something else.as much as I hate to say it, the scimitar-horned oryx are no longer on the website so I think that they are not coming back.
Porcupine have also been added, also just because it is off the website does not mean that it is the end of the species at Chester by any means. One day they may obtain more Scimitar-horned or indeed any other oryx species so I don't think they'll be gone forever. There are now pages for more reptiles/amphibians on Chester's website including: Parson's chameleon, golden mantella and painted batagur. However, as much as I hate to say it, the scimitar-horned oryx are no longer on the website so I think that they are not coming back.
Yes I had a little look at the facebook comments on their most recent post about Narus, there is a photo of a new born capybara so there definitely has been a new litter.Comments from various members of the public suggest there has been another litter of Capybara born.
