In this case it hasn't really been cold enough yet for that to play a part, if temperature does indeed increase infection rates. Average temperatures can fall as low as 45°F in Ethopia during certain months, which is part of the soemmeringii range.I have wondered before if big cats from warm countries are more prone to infections due our cold weather...
Giant Otters are also off show now whilst the building work takes place
A pair of White Collared Kingfisher have been put into what was the second Crocodile enclosure in the Tropical Realm. (poor picture attached)
Was there a sign up saying the Giant Otters had been taken off-show?
As for the Kingfishers they were moved on-show just before members day.
I wonder if they're off-show in the same location they were before they went into the exhibit...Was there a sign up saying the Giant Otters had been taken off-show?

There's a good chance that might become permanent. The walkway between the Face Painting Studio and Mongoose-mania has been blocked off to stop her getting stressed.

They only housed the male in that exhibit, but seeing as they have moved themI think we can safely say that they will have moved them both there,as its quite protected and out of the glare of visitors eyes,so if they do have young it will be very peacefull and secure for them!I wonder if they're off-show in the same location they were before they went into the exhibit...
