Chester Zoo Game

My answer is a little left-field, but so is the question.

After some fruitless racking of my brain, I looked at Zootierliste to see if any interesting new arrivals would fill TLD's bill. My eye was caught by the name 'duck-billed fish' which was quite new to me. Then I realised that it was a species I had worked hard to photograph at Bolton Museum many years ago - it was known as Xenopoecilus sarasinorum although it has now been transferred to the ricefishes in the genus Oryzias.
This group is called the Adrianichthyidae and I realised that the phrase 'wishy-washy liberal' had set me off in the wrong direction. The old pantomime 'Aladdin' and Mr Gladstone were not relevant: 'Adrian' is quite obviously the most wishy-washy and liberal of all English names.
This endangered species is endemic to Lake Lindu near the centre of Sulawesi, and quick map check showed that this is quite near the island volcano of Colo. QED :D

If, by any remote chance, my logic is faulty; it is still worth noting the arrival of this species, assuming that Zootierliste is accurate. The males are spectacular, although only 8 cm long (see below). The females are silvery but they have the fascinating habit of carrying their eggs, which hang from their vents like a tiny bunch of grapes which is a characteristic of this family.

@Gentlelemur - you are not correct, but I am pleased to see someone putting some logic into their answer :D as you did above, and Shorts did in his private message to me.

Grevy's Zebra is not correct, either.

The zoo has held this species since 2000 Alan.

Yes, I've spotted it in an Annual Report now - it's amazing how easy it is to overlook something when it has been given a silly name :o (check my photo and try to work out how anyone could call it a duck-billed fish).
Anyway will be just right for Islands :)

the name is actually for the members of the genus Adrianichthys which have a bizarre "duck-bill" jaw. The other fish in the family do not possess this.

You haven't actually paid note to the last one so far :p I'll say it again, if you tell me what the logic behind your guesses is, I can tell you if you are thinking along the right lines.

That's like changing the name of the bush dog to the giraffe dog, because maned wolves have long legs :D

my logic in choosing the lorikeet is that it was illogical . Star Trek connection (vulcan in clue:D)
