Chester Zoo Game

Presuming wishy-washy to mean washed out or pale plumage, ang going off the liberal democrat's logo, could it be the pied imperial pigeon?

Not correct, but I like your thinking :D

Mindanao bleeding-heart pigeon: wishy-washy liberal equals bleeding heart. Mindanao is a volcanic island.

I was actually thinking of Luzon Bleeding-Heart Pigeon, but I was willing to accept this guess too, as it also fits :) the riddle was put into my mind when I was recalling the fact the June 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo is one of my earliest "world event" memories which I recall clearly.

Your turn, Chli!

Childonias, wow you solved TLD's riddle but Luzon and Mindanao are in the same family of bleeding-hearts.

So does the zoo keep both species of bleeding-hearts?

~Thylo:cool:

It does indeed, along with the closely related Goldenheart Dove (Gallicolumba rufigula).

If he does go blind he can referee a Stoke City Premier league match, most of the other refs have trouble seeing.

I wish Chester would get White-breasted Dove (Gallicolimba jobiensis) again.

Yes I do remember the eruption of Pomepii, although I identified more with Herculaneum, the more upmarket area, it reminded me so much of Stoke.:D

All the broken pottery, burnt-out shells of what once were houses and skeletal forms lying in the streets with pain still etched upon their faces? :p
