In late 70s/early 80s Dr. Who there were several aliens named after real animals. Apart for the Mandrels, you also had the Krynoids and The Mara. I suppose the Vervoids could be included as well, at a stretch.

Anyway, I believe there is an alleged singer by the name of Lady Gaga: although I expect her Ladyship's nearest and dearest often drop the title and call her plain old Gaga.
