Chicks from ‘one of the world’s rarest’ bird species born at Chester Zoo
Two highly endangered red-billed curassow chicks have hatched at Chester Zoo in what has been hailed as “significant moment” for the species.
Fewer than 200 of the birds remain in the wild, with Chester Zoo describing them as “one of the world’s rarest bird species”.

Noticed today that a new large mammal species is visible in the paddock by the Parrot Breeding Centre (arrived last year but has yet to be properly on show): Blesbok at Chester, 26th November 2021 - ZooChat

Indeed - not a brand new arrival - I don't recall it being noted as visible previously though.
Could some kind person please give me a link so I could look at the 2020 animal inventory please?
There wasn't one released publically.
The latest inventories are at Animal Inventory | Chester Zoo | Corporate Information as you may already know. But they are dated 31st December 2018.
Many thanks folks for the replies have e-mailed the collection for info as they have been very helpful in the past couple of weeks

Chester Zoo was able to breed/hatch Desertas Island snails for the first time outside of their homeland, making this a world first breeding!

I think that these buildings are in the new off-show area, across the road from Cedar House.
Some more information about the hatching of the Desertas Island land snails. The two species involved are Discula lyelliana and Geomitra grabhami. These are the first two of five species of Madeiran snail that Chester Zoo are hoping to rescue and breed in captivity, with another two hopefully due to be collected on an upcoming expedition to the islands - this will also help with reintroduction surveys following the recent breeding success.

The 2018 ones have been visible for ages.
