Chester Zoo Chester Zoo Reports 2018

Saw glimpses of the baby chimp today; several visitors were commenting on how unusually subdued the group were, although there was a short spell where the flipped out a little and raced around outdoors shrieking.
Also saw the otter pups and maybe 6 bush dog pups.
Someone asked a while back, what is in the enclosure where the Pademelon were; seems they are still there, as the two on islands are another pair (according to a volunteer/staff member).

the zoo holds 2.2 pademelons, one pair in each enclosure as mentioned above.

Nisha and I saw the baby chimp quite clearly last week, the irony is neither of us like chimps, although one year I was silly enough to adopt one.

Does anybody like chimps?

You wouldn't want a family of them moving in next door would you?

That includes me. Chimpanzee is my least favourite Great Ape. Bonobo is far more graceful in its physique.
I've not seen enough Bonobos to have an opinion on them. Chimpanzees are too much like people for me. Nothing against them, but I prefer Orangs and Gorillas, and could not choose between the two.

I’m visiting today does anybody need any specific questions answered, things to look out for or pictures.

I agree about chimps being too much like people, but I do like bonobos. As for orangs and gorillas - orangs tip the scales for me! Chimps living next door? They might be preferable to some of the human families visiting 'my' zoo in the summer
