Saw glimpses of the baby chimp today; several visitors were commenting on how unusually subdued the group were, although there was a short spell where the flipped out a little and raced around outdoors shrieking.
Also saw the otter pups and maybe 6 bush dog pups.
Someone asked a while back, what is in the enclosure where the Pademelon were; seems they are still there, as the two on islands are another pair (according to a volunteer/staff member).

I don't know; the enclosure on islands isn't very big and is accessible for the tree kangaroo(s) too.

Nisha and I saw the baby chimp quite clearly last week, the irony is neither of us like chimps, although one year I was silly enough to adopt one.

Kai and Aru were the first two Dusky Pademelons brought to the zoo initially. Then when the new enclosure was set up on Islands, Kai moved in there with new female Styx, and Aru remains in the original enclosure with another female.

I like chimps a lot - and presumably many people do, otherwise Monkey World wouldn't be such a success!

I've not seen enough Bonobos to have an opinion on them. Chimpanzees are too much like people for me. Nothing against them, but I prefer Orangs and Gorillas, and could not choose between the two.

I agree about chimps being too much like people, but I do like bonobos. As for orangs and gorillas - orangs tip the scales for me! Chimps living next door? They might be preferable to some of the human families visiting 'my' zoo in the summer
