Not much to report, but I wanted to start a new thread on my home zoo for the new year :) There are two new species in the RainForest free flight aviary- White-rumped Shama and Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Just left the zoo. Here's what was new:
• Dwarf Crocodile exhibit covered over with paper
• Rainforest waterfall barely running
• Sloth Bear on exhibit
• Didn't do PCA
• Prevost's Squirrel off exhibit
• Only two Sea Lions on exhibit, no seal
• Learned from employees that the Yagga Tree most likely won't reopen with Australia in May

Just left the zoo. Here's what I saw
• Pathway in front of Bear Hollow closed off again so seeing the Tigers, Bears, Seals and Leopards require going all the way around under the Fulton Bridge again.
• Wolf Lodge is still accessible from the Africa path
• Food court in African Savannah being demolished
• Black Bears and Sloth Bear off exhibit
• Yellow Belly Mangabeys occupying the Colobus Monkey exhibits
• May is a speculated date to open Bear Hollow
• Dwarf Crocodile exhibit still being refurbished

What will replace the food court?

New logo for Bear Hollow. Also was it mentioned when the Bears would be coming back?

I wasn't aware the zoo acquired the Wyrwas Aluminum Foundry. Too bad they'll have to take some time and money to clean it up.

Also, I'm curious to see the finished Steffee Center renovations.

I wonder if the Wyras acquisition will mean that land will become parking or part of the new entrance once Primate Forest happens

Notes on 3/22/23-

- Scarlet Macaw from The RainForest's aviary is now living in the Primate, Cat, and Aquatics Building.
- It had spent a while living in the Prevost Squirrel exhibit
- The zoo no longer has a Fishing Cat
-
Sign in the exhibit says they're preparing it for a new arrival. No word on what that is.
- Sloth and American Black Bears were off exhibit.
- Colobus Monkeys were nowhere to be seen.
- Dwarf Crocodile exhibit has been uncovered but the croc itself was still off-exhibit.
- A new banner has been added to the food court redevelopment (which I forgot to take a picture of) that says the food court will reopen in Summer 2023.
