In case anyone is interested I am uploading photos from my visit to the zoo from last week. For some reason the photos uploaded twice, but it was a great day to visit the zoo as temps were warm enough for all the African animals to be outside, but still pretty cold so all the animals were extremely active. Also, I haven't uploaded them yet, but there will be many photos documenting the new African Elephant Crossing. For those of you who are really interested in seeing what the exhibit looks like, this will give you a pretty good idea as I took photos from many different angles.

Cleveland Zoo will have over 1.3 million visitors this year for only the 4th time in the zoo's history. African Elephant Crossing contributed to a 10% increase from the year before, even though that section of Ohio experienced record-breaking rainfall.

Does that mean financial windfall too in order to renovate those exhibits suggested earlier?
Attendance revenue is almost never sufficient to fund major capital projects, at least in the experience of US zoos. Government funds and/or donations will be needed.
Interesting ...., I have heard some overseas argue otherwise
(allthough in my experience in Europe we need subsidies or incentive cash to invest in new exhibitry)!!
