I am a long-time Clevelander and am curious about the Cleveland Zoo and its past. Specifically, I have a couple questions about my memories of the zoo (ca. 2006).
1. What exhibits do you remember being along the boardwalk that ran from behind the lorikeet aviary to the old (pre-African Elephant Crossing) elephant exhibit at one time or another? I remember double-crested cassowary mixed with Bruijn's pademelon (I want to say there was a third species in that exhibit- some sort of wallaby?- but can't remember exactly), pygmy and Nile hippos, Matschie's tree kangaroos, Kirk's dik-dik, warthogs, Malayan tapirs, etc. I can't remember what else was there.
2. What species were in Northern Trek that no longer are there? I remember white-lipped deer and have vague memories of either seeing or hearing about a Kodiak bear that was up there?
Again, I was just a little kid at the time and would like these things clarified. Thanks much
