We visited here on June 24 while on holiday in Belgium, it was about a 1h30 drive, and was on the list to visit last year May/June already but we didn't make it then.
We parked on the other side of the main entrance, where the Sea Lions are.
We had already google mapped the place to see for surrounding spots but thought we'd try there first, and there was 1 spot left, lucky!
Main reason for visiting was the Blue Eyed Black Lemurs.
Their Lemur house did not dissapoint! Felt like I stepped into heaven, lol.
All of them were out and about when we got there, and the Blue Eyed Black Lemur was eating so got to see her really well, and with the eye color and the color of the furr she looks stunning! (do they not have a male? only saw a female)
When in Belgium again I'm sure we'll go back here, it was a really nice place.
It was very hot that day, and I don't function very well when the sun is out

so even after going back and forth to some animals after we did the full round, we were still about an hour before closing time done and decided we didn't want to go around some more anymore.
A few babies we saw: Lion Tailed Macaque, Red Howler Monkey, Lion cubs, we saw 1 of the Tiger cubs on the TV screen just in time before it crawled out of sight, the Aloatran Lemur twins and the highlight of the day was the Okapi baby, sadly not a great view as it was inside and you had to look through 2 panels of glass which were all quite dirty, but still, we managed to see it a little bit.
The Red Howler Monkey we hadn't seen before anywere else.
We also went to the Aardvark feeding, to make sure we would finally get a proper look at them, as ones we've seen before have always been asleep and usually in a very dark place.
The keeper had some troubles getting one of them out of their hut, but with some belly scratches and holding the food right in front of him he came outside.
Bummed about not seeing the Weddell's Tamarin, had not seen these before, and was just looking at ZTL, no where else in Europe?
Only a few no-shows, the Spectacled Bear, Rhino, Geoffoy's Cat and the Otters.
(but we've seen all these elsewhere before)
