Dark Future For Coral Reefs

Alarmismcan be good but it is nonetheless alarmism. Coral bleaches due to stress, it also recovers. (With time. So exploitation needs to stop.)

Not necessarily. Bleaching can precipitate a one-way phase-shift to algae-dominated systems, particularly when associated with other stressors.

Well, I can guarantee bleaching happened in the past several times. Check the molecular locks of specialised reef organisms such as butterflyfishes and damselfishes: throughout that period of time, reefs must have recovered.

Reefs can recover, but not always, like Giant Panda said. If a reef does recover it takes time, several years. Constant bleaching events will destroy the reefs and they won't be able to recover.

I have to say that what may or may not have happened repeatedly in the past doesn't actually have any bearing on what may happen in the future.
