Denver Zoo mourns loss of 48-year-old Sumatran orangutan Sally - The Denver Post
Great news for the Zoo and for the species! I never really hear/see much about the zoo's apes. From the few photos I've seen the exhibit looks nice, very open and grassy. How would someone who has visited compare the exhibit to others?
Also, I'm sure there's one in the thread already so my apologies if so but I was wondering what some of the people who have visited think about the elephant passage exhibit? It's been open a while now and from what I've seen/heard people generally have mixed opinions about it. I hear the toyota promotion in a little much and that the space is questionable. It looks very aesthetically pleasing from the guest point of view but what are your thoughts about the space for the animals (Elephant's and rhino)?.
Does anyone know if the zoo's new tiger exhibit is still projected over the summer? I haven't seen any updates about the project or even construction since the plans were anounced. Maybe someone more familiar with the zoo may be aware of the project?
