Went to the zoo today. Went Behind the Scenes in the National Amphibian Conservation Center!!!! The zoo has Texas Blind Salamander And the successfully bred them recently. A lot of the exhibits are getting upgrades including the White Rhino,Chimpanzee and Japanese Macaques.
 
Great news about the breeding of the Texas Blind Salamander ! Do you have more information about this ( number of breeding animals, number of offsprings ) ?
 
The city is bankrupt and unemployment is sky-high but families are still packing up their kids and heading to the local zoo. Detroit had more than 1.3 million visitors last year, its greatest total in 16 years. I'm sure that annual attendance will soar even higher when the new penguin complex is complete.

@snowleopard, unsurprisingly so … really! People cannot afford to overspend and take interstate holidays and stuff, so they go local for their outings and the Detroit Zoo rather than a burden - as the City would have it - is a gem that champions to be a good outing for families with kids.

Incidentally, anything more substantial on what updates in exhibits for rhinos, chimpanzees and stuff (as mentioned here).
 
Detroit wolf exhibit.

Most recent news from Detroit Zoo is that they will be opening a new Wolf exhibit in the future. Annual summer fund raiser Sunset at the zoo to be used to collect funds for the exhibit
