Dublin Zoo Dublin Zoo News 2025

There will be two Dublin Zoo floats in the St. Patrick's Day parade: Log in or sign up to view

One of them apparently is a giant 'surprise', which makes me think of a new species. It could do with the upcoming dinosaur animatronic display, but since they already gave a date for that, I don't think it'll be related to that event, but I could likely be wrong.

There’s a new baby bongo! I saw them during my visit today, pics to come later
Great news! This would be Dublin's first surviving Bongo calf in eight years.

Any idea how many Bongos this gives Dublin now?

From my recollection, four at least - male, Annabelle, Nyeri + calf. Annabelle only arrived late last year so we can rule her out as the mother of this latest calf, meaning it should be Nyeri unless there's another female.

We saw 3 adults and the baby

These are the videos I got of the little one, very energetic!
(please lmk if the videos aren’t viewable, google drive confuses me )
They seem to need permission from the 'file owner' to view. I'm not very good with Google Drive either, so I don't know if you can change that or if that is how it's supposed to look like

Down to one specimen and at dublin zoos normal speed with projects it might be years till a companion is sourced.
I notice the website has no news re the upcoming TV series, which I find odd.
