Had my first ever visit to Dublin zoo yesterday and I have to say I was really impressed! It’s now probably my favourite city zoo in the UK & Ireland (out of the ones I have been too).
I loved the ape enclosures, they’re the most natural looking ape enclosures I have ever seen, and it was awesome to see one of the orangutans climb over the pathway
The dholes were out and active which was nice to see, as this was the first time I had seen this species.
The new snow leopard and red panda enclosures were really nice and, again, natural looking. I saw 4 red pandas in total, two of which were at the top of the large tree in the left hand enclosure.
One of the Sulawesi crested macaques was playing with a window squeegee, don’t think she was meant to have it, but nevertheless was loving it lol
I was unable to get a good view of the elephant enclosure (why are the paths around their enclosure so small for such a popular animal!?) it was
very busy meaning I couldn’t stop to get a good look, but from what I saw, the enclosure was nice and the elephants were enjoying the water.
I’m hoping to go back later this year (when it won’t be so busy!)
