Dudley Zoological Gardens Dudley Zoological Gardens in 2011

Had to put my last visit back to this Sat 9th July due to illness so will get everything I can for every one this week

UPDATE -

On there facebook page is a photograph of a Capybara and young baby born just recently

I have just been looking at the zoos website and it looks like it has an interesting collection. I notice on the map it shows a tiger exhibit but when I searched for them on the websites animal index they weren't listed. Do they have tigers at Dudley Zoo? I know there are pictures of an Amur tiger in the gallery here but are the animals still there?

They hope to house a breeding pair of Sumatran Tigers, the Amur Tiger named Tamair is a hybrid and is only on loan at Dudley as there last Sumatran Sarah died in 2010.

Last I heard they will be housing a pair of Sumatran Tiger, and they knew which 2 animals they would be recieving, they just needed to sort out a date to be able to move the pair to Dudley Zoo!

The new male Snow Leopard will be arriving in the autum from Banham.
Howler Monkeys fromTwycross are now on show in primate house 1
Baby Capybara out in the enclosure today
New born Meerkats out in the enclosure also
A new Monkey was also in the primemate house 1 next to the Howler monkeys unsure as to what it is but on another web site it has said something about a Capuchin moving to the midlands from Colchester zoo will put photo up in gallery for ID
Porcupines moving shortly to Monkey Tails as it looks like there enclosure is near completion
I will also put up a few enclosure images as requested over the next couple of days.

EDIT - Toucan can now be seen in the first Avairy next to the Rhea

Adrian1963 mentioned their arrival on a Gallery thread, but not on the Forum thread I don't think.

Its good see another UK Zoo taking this interesting species, even if only males- at least to start with.

A few updates from me. I've put some pics of Luna the baby lar and the new baby meerkats, I got a few of Luna but she kept falling over and he's at all sorts of funny angles, it was like watching a human baby learning to walk!
Also put up a rather exciting picture about the new snow leopard, Margassh will be arriving from Banham in Autumn 2011! Not sure if this is common knowledge but I didn't know when he was coming, so maybe some others don't.
I saw Sprout but assumed there'd be tonnes of pics so didn't get any, sorry!
Inca looks happier in her new enclosure, more active than I've ever seen her, was splashing her feet in the water, very sweet.
Any other points of interest please ask.
