Aren't the Dudley chimps all hybrids which are being phased out in EAZA collections?

Probably. They are the remaining females from London's last breeding group that lived in the Sobell pavilions.

I have never come across a situation like this where a large established zoo holds a group of 'females only' chimps because they are nervous the enclosure wouldn't be able to hold a male. They originally had their own old male Pepe in the group until he died but then never replaced him. Very odd situation.

3) The current Amur with leave when Adrian1963 said and will be replaced by 2 Sumatrans that will eventually form a new breeding pair all being well,if the circumstances of 1 doesn`t impare it from breeding!

What do you mean if its circumstances dont impare it from breeding?

Would anyone out there have the history of ALL the Orangutans held in the Dudley collection from the day it opened

Dudley have had a number of Orangutans, but many of them have been kept there on a temporary basis before moving elsewhere. To list them properly I'd need access to the full historical section of an Orangutan studbook and I don't seem to have one. However, the main details are as follows;

1st pair- Joe/Borno(male) & Flora/Suma(female) arrived May 1962.
(Joe was Bornean, Flora was Sumatran).

Offspring(hybrids). Daisy(female) born 1969.(went to GordonMills/Weybridge)
Dudley 2. born 1972 died same day.
Anak(male) born 1973 died 1985(Flamingo Park)

Another 'rescued' young Bornean male 'Louis' lived temporarily at Dudley for a short time in 1969.

After the female Flora died (1978), Joe lived alone for some years. Efforts were then made to get some purebred young from him by sending females from other zoos on breeding loan;
Blossom (from London Zoo- no result).) 1984. Kate(from London Zoo) 1987
Azimat (from Blackpool Zoo) 1990- present day.
'Joe' has had two pure offspring- Homer(by Kate) and Jaz(by Azimat). Homer went to Blackpool where he fathered offspring. Joe died circa 1990's.

Other Orangutans that passed through Dudley;
Dagu( Sumatran) later went to Jersey.
Annie(hybrid) later went to Colchester.
Jimmy/James(Bornean) born at Bristol. later went to Blackpool.

Then the current animals;
Azimat (from Blackpool 1990)
Jaz (Joe x Azimat)
Benjamin. (Born Duisburg, came from Dublin)
Jorong. (born Chester, came from Dublin)

I think that's pretty much all of them but I may have left the odd one out.

Zoogiraffe do you know what collections the Tigers are coming from.

EDIT - Would anyone know where the Camels are coming from

It's pretty obvious from zoogiraffe's messages where the female tiger will come from. At least Sarah and Rokans legacy will carry on like people were hoping for

I do know where atleast 1 of the Tigers is coming from but was told off the record so saying no more!!

As for the Camels they have arrived and 1 came from Cotswold Wildlife Park and if memory serve me correct the other came from Whipsnade,unless somebody that was with me can remember differently!!

Sounds right, especially Cotswold -I was half anticipating we'd be told Hamerton as they seemed to be bursting at the seams with Camels when I last visited.
