According to this post, the tropical house has been rebuilt as a sandy Caribbean beach.
Both Cuban hutias and iguanas (of the genus Cyclura, in post mentioned as "Wirtelschwanzleguane" will share an enclosure. A separate enclosure will house Jamaican boas.

At the begining of this year 4 meerkats were born, the zoo now has 8 meerkats.

Duisburg lost its complete group of Black-tailed marmosets 
! The species was obtained 2018 - 1 pair - and bred twice - 2019 -2020. The small group was free-living in the Rio Negro - enclosure.
In continental Europe there is now a single holder of the species : Magdeburg, in the UK still 5 collections keep the species....

On the 15th of February Bactrian camel Sulina gave birth to female, she was given the name Salima.

What a shame! We were going to visit in a few weeks and I was so looking forward to seeing these incredibly rare animals
Burger's baby manatee sadly died early 2021, so that's sadly not an option anymore
According to ZTL, Two-toed sloths are free-roaming in Rio negro, which is a rather interesting species to have as a free-roamer (At least, I've never heard of it as a free-roamer). What are the other free-roamers in the hall? And what are the chances of seeing them?

In a bizarre turn of events, keepers doing routine maintenance work were stunned this morning when, whilst passing through the Rio Negra exhibit, they were blinded by a golden light. When it faded somewhat, an old familiar face was seen swimming around, glowing as if the fibre of his very being was made of cosmic energy:
At the stroke of noon local time, the keepers were blinded once again by a golden light, and a powerful voice was heard to say "Ich werde in einem Jahr wiederkommen!"
When the light faded, the exhibit was once again empty.
Authorities are baffled.

Given the origin, wouldn't the powerful voice be speaking an indigenous language like Tupi-Guarani , Warao , Kariña or Arawak or perhaps the more widely / commonly spoken Spanish or Portuguese ?
Well I suppose after so long in the country he would be fluent in German too and as a cosmic phenomenon / spectre it would make sense that the spectre and his premonition was linguistically understood.
