I thought the margays may go in the old binturong enclosure with them moving near the bushbabies/warty pigs.
Chimpanzee Ricky - Edinburgh's oldest animal - passed away yesterday afternoon:

Sorry just a little bit confused! Are the binturong and warty pigs in the enclosures built for river hogs and Diana monkeys on the old White rhino house? And if so where ate the river hogs?![]()
Thanks tlDaveso the aardwolf are moved back to the complex with the marbled polecats etc! They certainly keep things on the move!
What is in the old warty pig enclosure now then?
Sofus the sea lion will be moving to Lodz zoo next month. His current enclosure will house in total 30 Northern rockhopper penguins. (11 are arriving from Vienna)
I watched the Panda programme last night (very interesting but that's for the T.V. thread) and have been meaning to ask for a long time- what is that tall 'spaceship' thing on the Penguins' side of the Panda building? I've even seen it myself in the past but have never known what it is.![]()
I think that the bridge across the penguin pool is suspended by wires from this tower; which doesn't explain why it's shaped like a deformed modernist kitchen appliance or painted such a dodgy colour

It's supposed to represent the prow of a ship in reference to Christian Salvesen as they provided the founders of the existing penguin colony and it's really why penguins have been at Edinburgh for so long as Salvesens used to regularly return to Leith docks in Edinburgh after trips to the southern oceans where they "collected" the penguins. There is a plaque on that part of the bridge at the penguin enclosure.
