Bertus the Indian Rhino is still in the zoo, no idea when his move will be now, if he ends up moving at all.
Strange!

Not so strange as this transfer was supposedly intercontinental. Can you even begin to imagine all the preperatory paperwork, stringent testing, bureacracy, non-paper non overlap issues and then we also have to deal with the practicalities of moving an animal and the staff on site who have their daily chores and training to have the animal moved. Aside: a deal like this may still fall through and depends largely on good cooperation between a good number of different institutions and with a lot of diplomacy involved on the part of the zoo community and the individual zoo institutions themselves.Strange!
No sign of Maya (last years Tapir Calf) not sure if she's been moved to another zoo or was just off show, it was around about now last year that Baku moved to Antwerp.
Can now officially confirm Bertus' move from Edinburgh Zoo to Batu Secret Zoo in Malang, East Jawa, Indonesia. A 48 hour journey with direct flight from Luxemburg to Surabaya and from there on to Malang.
