Exotic mammals at each Australian zoo

How many different types of exotic rodents do we have in Australia. I know:

Western Plains Zoo:
Patagonian Mara.

Adelaide Zoo:
Common Tree Shrew.

Melbourne Zoo:
Common Tree Shrew.

Taronga Zoo:
Northern Palm Squirrel.

Are there any others?

a few zoos have agoutis.

i'm not sure if there are any indian porcupines left. melbourne still had an elderly pair until recently.

Patagonian Cavy -

Brazilian Agouti -
Adelaide Zoo
Alma Park Zoo
Gorge Wildlife Park
Melbourne Zoo
Taronga Zoo

American Beaver -
Adelaide Zoo

Northern Palm Squirrel -

Norway Rat -
Adelaide Zoo

I have excluded Black Rat and Guinea Pig.

Capybara can now be imported into Australia and last i heard, African Crested Porcupine still needed to be added to the Eligible for Importation List.

:)

side note on the common tree shrews in australia - its suspected they are actually the northern treeshrew (from memory) that has been originally misidentified.

So I'm procrastinating from doing some uni work, which means it's a wonderful time to follow Chlidonias' lead from his New Zealand thread, and try to update this one. First, once again, will be the primates, and I'll actually get around to doing the ungulates this time (though there will be little precision when it comes to deer species at small, non-ZAA parks). Where a species is known by me to be off-display, that will be noted.

ZAA Census says Sunda. So I'll run with that. I admit to some confusion.
that's interesting, I just checked ISIS and Melbourne has one Nycticebus coucang and one N. bengalensis. Where did their slow lorises come from in the first place? And did they get them at the same time? (I'm presuming they came in as the same species, probably before the originally monotypic species was split). And seriously, why keep them off-display???

didn't you write in another thread that Tasmania Zoo also had De Brazza's monkeys from Melbourne? (I might be remembering that wrong)

They use them in education programs, so I guess they're semi-on-display. But it's frustrating as hell for me - they're one of my out and out favourite animals, and I've never seen one!

I was just about to ask about the Perth one. Do they have a nocturnal house or is it in a regular cage? I'm going to be there in October and would quite like to see him. Also looking foward to spotted hyaena. I must say thanks to CGSwans for these lists, they're very useful! :D

And is the sloth at Adelaide on display, because I'm going there as well and I do like sloths!

The Adelaide Loris came from Melbourne a few years ago. At least one of the Loris' was a smuggled animal left on the doorstep of the Melbourne Zoo many years ago. This explains why they currently have two different species of slow loris in the collection. Prior to recently The Sunda and mainland slow loris species where considered synonymous.
